The Importance of Building Links PDF Print E-mail
Written by Admin
Links make the World Wide Web go round. Links are how we get from place to place on the web and they're the vehicle that allows us access to an infinite amount of information. Links also give us more traffic to our sites. This article will explain why you should increase the number of links to your site, and how to do it.

It's only logical that the search engines take the number of links pointing to a particular web site into account when ranking the sites in their index. A link to your web site is seen as a vote for your web site. It's a simple concept really. I always like to use the example of a party when explaining the idea of how and why linking works.

We've all been to a party and started, or overheard, a conversation with someone taking about a great product or service. Depending on how much you trust that person, you may or may not buy the product or service, but you will definitely check it out.

Word of mouth advertising is the most effective form of advertising. The idea of linking to other web sites was intended to be the web's form of word of mouth advertising. I say "intended" because in the early days of link exchanging the search engine algorithms could be easily manipulated.

Many web site owners figured out that it was relatively easy to artificially inflate the number of sites that the search engine thought linked to you. This was accomplished in many different ways but the underlying problem was that the sites that were linking to one another had nothing to do with one another.

Let's go back to our party for a minute and let's pretend you and I were in a nice discussion about our yards and the ideas we have to improve the curb appeal of our homes. Then I blurt out, "Hey! You know, I know a great pastry chef who makes killer cr?me roulette." The look on your face is probably priceless at this point.

That's pretty much what was happening on the Web. Poker sites were linking to diet pill sites and cooking sites would like to car dealers. The fundamental problem with this behavior was that it did not serve the human interests and only catered to the search engine robots.

Google optimization is one of the most critical factors for search engine optmisation campaign. Google is above all the search engines. Google is based on the key factors as the Google page rank, the renowned Google sand box and inbound links.

Google optimization depends on the three key factors, Google page rank, Google sand box and the inbound links. In the process of optimizing a website you should always see the inbound links pointing to your website domain and pages. Google makes all the difference with the quality of one way inbound links. So you should concentrate on getting quality inbound links for your website. This can be done by article writing, buying links and link exchanges. With the quality inbound links your page rank will increase by itself.

The effect of Google sandbox is on the new domain names and holds them in a filter. Generally all domain names are not held in the filter. Normally by using competitive keywords, adding relevant content and linking external sites to yours can get you out of the Google sand box. One needs to keep patience in such a situation and keep on working according to Google guidelines.

There are certain guidelines for Google optimization.

  • Always defining a clear navigation structure for the website. Every page should be reachable from at least one static text link.
  • Create a sitemap to your users with links that point to all parts of your site. Create a useful, information-rich site with pages that clearly and accurately describe the content about your services.
  • Add the words in the content users would type to find the pages.
  • Always try to use alt text instead of images to display important keywords, contents or links.Make sure that your title and alt tags are relevant, descriptive and accurate.
  • Keep the links on your pages to less than 100. Get other relevant sites link to yours. Manually submit your site to directories and search engines.
  • Submit your site to Google. http://www.google.com/addurl.html.
  • Submit an xml site map file at Google webmaster tools. Google uses sitemap file to learn about the structure and coverage of your site.
  • Submit your site to relevant directories such as open directory project and yahoo directory as well as to other industry specific expert sites.
  • Upload the robot.txt file on your web browser. This file tells crawlers which directories can or can not be crawled.
  • Use robot.txt to prevent crawling of search result pages or other auto generated pages that don’t add much value for users coming from search engines.
  • Make pages for users, not for search engines.
  • Avoid “doorway” pages with little or no original content.

The Effective Power Of Links Recognized In The Course Of Time PDF Print E-mail
Written by Admin
You might have heard some points regarding the matter of time and its importance while building websites and especially at the time of promoting them on the web. As a matter of fact, the process of launching a new website can be much faster than actually making it popular and successful in the online world because there are so many factors playing important roles when it comes to having highly visited and really important websites which are simply out of the webmasters controls and one of the main ones is the links time factor.

You know, the search engines such as Google do not prefer the hurried approaches, nor do they like seeing thousands of websites being built overnight trying to get to the top rankings merely through the artificial methods like massive link buildings and the similar tricks. They instead, like to see websites which are developed in the course of time and through constant links additions.

It might not be necessary talking about the power of links again because you more than probably are fully aware of their importance when it comes to making a website found on the web and in the major search engines. But it might still be useful mentioning some points regarding the strength of the links, and especially the one way links in the course of time.

Once new links are established, pointing to a website, each of the major search engines might approach and read them according to their special algorithms. For example, as it is common among the webmasters to claim, Yahoo and MSN are giving bonuses to the websites pointing the links to, with some advantages and scores in the web rankings fast so the links are counted as soon as being found.

But Google, on the other hand might be a bit more cautious about counting and evaluating the links values when it reaches them on web pages. Please note that one thing is certain and that is about the age of the links. The older the links, the effects can considerably be recognized better and the better effects in web rankings and the search engines placements.

Therefore, when one website adds a new link to another, if the link remains on the page for a longer time, it will be gradually accumulating more power and web value as Google and the other search engines visit the pages in the future as well. The links can be called the authority ones because they are fixed and this shows about the strength and possible high values of them.
