Setting Realistic SEO Expectations PDF Print E-mail

Those who've been in the SEO biz for a number of years know how much more competitive it is these days compared to a few years ago. The number of web pages indexed by search engines has doubled, tripled, and quadrupled in past years. On top of that, a good portion of site owners and webmasters know just enough SEO to be dangerous. In the golden age of SEO, the vast majority of websites hadn't given a thought to the search engines, and when they did, it was only to place some keywords in their Meta tags. (Which, incidentally, didn't help then either.) Those were the days when anyone who knew even the slightest bit about SEO could easily rank highly in all the major search engines, with very little effort. Even competitive areas were doable with just a little more work than their non-competitive counterparts.

The Competition Is Fierce

These days, it's almost the exact opposite. Even keyword phrases that nobody's searching for can sometimes be difficult to obtain high rankings with unless you really and truly know what you're doing. And even then, those rankings may be here one day and gone the next. The problem is magnified for new businesses and new websites. If your site isn't at least a few years old, your SEO efforts will be less likely to provide the results you want. This is one reason why your website optimization should always be seen as a long-term proposition.

It's About Targeted Traffic, Not Rankings

As we move forward in this industry, webmasters, site owners, and SEOs need to shift their focus from asking how they can get this keyword to this position in this engine to how they can get more targeted traffic and convert it into customers. Unfortunately, a large portion of those looking into SEO services are still seeing the small picture. For instance, on the contact form on our High Rankings site, I ask people to tell me a little bit about their "business goals." A good number who fill it out want something like "top-5 rankings in Google and Yahoo for this keyword." Huh? That's not a business goal! A business goal is more like "Bring more people to my website who are searching online for the types of products we sell." (As a side note, soon after writing this, I got an email from someone whose goal was to have their Flash site be "#1 in all the search engines for the word 'spring.'" I kid you not!)

Website Design Tips By SEO Company PDF Print E-mail
Written by Admin
When the website design is easy to get around, visitors will stay longer. Better design means less eye movement and this will lead to more conversion. Design sites just like Road Maps giving complete indication to the user about various links and paths. Provide those points to the site that have high contrast to attract the visitor's eye. Use different font sizes and larger fonts for the headings. Use faces as faces are visual anchors for users and more interesting and comforting. Underline the links in blue. Surround text, images and click able links with white spaces. Use captions on pictures. Use some motion like flash or video to attract the visitors.

Use proper alignment to separate different information from different sources. Use proper navigation structure on each page. Use some white space on each page. Use proper anchors on each page. Use headers and group of text in a way that is easy for the visitors to read and locate. Do not mix and use too many font styles. Be consistent.

While using long navigation or menu bars use headers for visual anchor points that help in finding. Under each heading do not use more than 7 items. When you group the navigation headings user remain longer on navigation. Organized navigation will increase your find ability. Avoid that navigation that has more mouse-over drop downs. These are not search engine friendly and users also do not prefer them because drop down disturb your page content. Generally left navigation is preferred on larger sites by users. In case you use graphic navigation use code embed alt and titles for search engines.

While designing product pages always remember to use most commonly used on page optimization on all product pages, Meta data that is page specific and h1 tag and unique content. Provide add to cart button in close association with product price which is either next of or directly under it. Proper color and appearance should be there in add to cart button.

Thus if you follow the proper SEO ethics while designing a website it produces effective results in the long run while doing further On site and Off site promotion efforts for your website in the near future. A good SEO Services Company while providing the web promotion Services always takes in to consideration the website design ethics.

Keyword Basics Defined by SEO Services Company PDF Print E-mail

Keywords play a dominant role in SEO services. The website can be listed in search engines only when the end user types those keywords that have been optimized and related to the content of the website. Hence the selection of keywords requires great care. Select those keywords that are most popular with the end users and that match with your website content.

Find the three most crucial and great keyword for your website. The keyword should me most descriptive one with the most searches performed with the least competition.

Then comes the insertion of selected keywords in the content and place it accordingly. Make the first paragraph as big one and use all of these three keywords one at a time. Use first keyword as near to first word as possible. Use the second keyword somewhere in the second sentence but not after the third sentence. Then you can use the number three keyword after the number 2.

Use the First keyword once within the first one third paragraph of the text in paragraph 2. In case the paragraph is 100 words long make see if that keyword is placed in the first 33 words. The conclusion is that the keyword which is as near to the beginning of the paragraph the better it is.

Do the same procedure using second keyword in paragraph three and third keyword in fourth paragraph.

Now mix up the things you can use all these keywords randomly anywhere in each paragraph. Do not use one keyword more than three times in total before reaching the final paragraph.

In the final paragraph do the exactly same as it is done in the top and first paragraph but in reverse way. Begin with the least important keyword and conclude with the most important.

Thus keywords are the backbone of any SEO Process. All web promotion efforts can go waste when proper keywords are not defined and inserted in the website. Thus it is a task that needs to be handled wit great care.
